"I've got a story to tell.....about a wild mustang running free...."

Let us introduce you to BANDIT, another beautiful stallion of the Little Book Cliffs in Colorado. Born in the year 2001, he is now a successful band stallion in his prime.

His striking appearance catches the attention of all. To watch him interact with his family band is both insightful and entertaining. A very devoted and watchful stallion, he will occasionally put on a performance as if he enjoys the attention from onlookers...... in other words, he can be quite the "show-off!"  Here he is pictured guiding his mare Cat, back closer to the group. There is a lone bachelor stallion lurking in the far distance across the Big Field.

Standing guard over Cat and his other mare Chipeta.....the red roan. He is attentive and keeps a watchful eye. Isn't he just gorgeously handsome!

Another of Bandit's mares....the beautiful, black DéJá Vu. Bandit's son, Banjo...the little buckskin colt, decides to hang out with her for awhile. Banjo's mother is Cat.

Yes Banjo, you are very handsome too! You will be a stellar stallion someday just like Dad! Thanks for posing for such a sweet picture!

This is Firefly. She too is the offspring of Bandit and Cat. No longer a part of Bandit's band........

.......she has since joined with another stallion and gave birth to her first foal last spring (2012) ......"Hello, little Thor!"

Chipeta and Cat....they seemed to want to be in on the photo shoot this day too! Such pretty girls.....

Bandit with his family on the far east end of the Big Field.....

OK....so now the show begins! Bandit takes advantage of a situation to show us what he can do! The bachelor stallion way off in the distance will be his target. Bandit races across the field as if to say "Watch this!"......

Look at him fly!.....his hooves not even touching the ground! For a moment he truly becomes one with the wind.....

After the "Great Chase", he prances back across the Big Field to where his family is and where we were standing. Passing by, not 20 feet in front of us, he wanted to make sure we noticed his "studdly" attempt to protect his family from the possible threats of another stallion. Yes, he was pretty full of himself over his performance.....and yes Bandit, we were impressed! Love you always, my friend.
